Alvin Curtis "Al" Immell

Alvin C. Immell, 72, of Chillicothe, died at 11:57 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born on December 28, 1938 in Chillicothe, the son of the late Clough F. and Muriel Glandon Immell. On April 14, 1979 he married the former Janet K. Morris, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Patti Immell, two sons; Ernest (Kim) Large Jr., and Robert (Lisa) Large, all of Chillicothe, son-in-law; Gerald (Carolyn Sue Shaw) Allen, of Springfield, OH, eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister; Mary Morgan and one brother; William Immell.

Alvin was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Deputy Sheriff for Ross County for 25 years, having retired in 1993. He was a member of the Logan Elm Lodge 624, Free and Accepted Masons, the Ross County Shrine Club, he was a life member of AmVets Post 4, American Legion Post 62, VFW Post 108, Eagles Aerie 600, FOP-Chillicothe, the Buckeye Sheriffs Association, and the United Commercial Travelers.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Harry Hudson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort where military honors will be accorded by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A FOP service will be held at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Al wishes that memorial contributions be given to Veterans in Transit, Inc., 263 Rozelle Creek Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
