Barry Franklin Lovett died on November 26 2012, in Traditions of Chillicothe. He was born on Feb. 11, 1929 in Clovis, N.M., to Elvi and Cavie Pierce Lovett.
On Aug. 28, 1929, he married the former Juanell Harper who survives. Also surviving are a son Jerry R. (Genia) Lovett of Hortonville, Wisconsin, and a daughter Rita (Arthur) May of Chillicothe, and grandchildren Jarod Lovett, Levi Lovett, Virginia May Wallace, Joanne May Austin, Holly and Abraham May. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Tyler Lovett, Isaac Austin and Owen May. He was predeceased by Son Lloyd, Father and Mother, Brother L.C., Sisters Margaret Corder and Vanice Lovett.
Barry was a graduate of Clovis (N.M.) High School and received his Bachelor degree from Eastern New Mexico University, Portales. He received his Masters in Theology from Southeastern Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, N.C.
Following a residency at the Butner, N.C. Mental Health Facility, the Rev. Lovett served as chaplain at a mental hospital in Marion, Va., and in the Ohio prison system at Junction City, Chillicothe and Lucasville.
As an ordained Southern Baptist minister, he served as pastor to churches in Seven Springs, N.C., Lucasville and Piqua. He retired from ministry in 2005 after serving at Frankfort Baptist Church.
In keeping with Barry's wishes, he will be cremated. Friends are invited to gather in the Frankfort Baptist Church, Frankfort on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:30p.m. for a memorial service. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, is serving the family.
