Bertha Ann Evans

Bertha Evans 85 of Bainbridge went to be with the Lord 6:48 pm Wednesday, October 19, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born July 23, 1937, in Ross County the daughter of the late William J. and Mildred P. Jenkins Skaggs. On August 25, 1955, she married Homer Evans, who passed from this life July 31, 2002.

Bertha is survived by her daughter Beverly (Mike) Shoemaker; sons David Evans (Pam Lowe) and Kendall (Ann) Evans; grandchildren Jeremiah (Julie) Shoemaker, Amanda (Cyrus) Horsley, Daniel Lowe, Wendall Evans, Stephanie Evans and Zeb Evans; 6 great grandchildren; sister Rosella Jenkins; several nieces and nephews and close friends Barb Everhart and Paul and Debbie Robinett.

In addition to her parents and husband Bertha was preceded in death by a daughter Norma Jean; granddaughter Bethanie Evans; sisters Shirley Brewer, Dorothy Holbert and Kathleen Holbert; and brothers James Skaggs and Albert Skaggs.

Bertha loved to read, and she enjoyed doing word searches. She also attended the Bainbridge Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Dennis Wheeler officiating, following the service Bertha will be laid to rest beside Homer in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with Bertha’s family from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Adena Hospice 111 W.
