Bertie G. Shoemaker

Bertie G. Shoemaker 78 of Bainbridge went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born July 7, 1935 in Crockett, KY to the late Johnny and Polly Keaton Ison. On August 8, 1953 she married Wesley L. Shoemaker, who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Mike (Bev) Shoemaker of Waverly, Doug (Audrey) Shoemaker of Peebles, Debbie White of Bainbridge and Margaret (Garry) Matthews of Jeffersonville; a son-in-law, Wayne Wagoner of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah Shoemaker, Amanda Horsley, Erica Shoemaker, Ashley Plymire, Brittany Wagoner, Cody White and Adam Matthews; four great grandchildren, Kelcy Horsley, Jenna Shoemaker, Cyrus Horsley and Brayden Slater; two sisters, Addie Bishop of West Liberty, KY and Dean
Atkinson of Trenton, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorenda Wagoner; granddaughter, Whitney Wagoner; three sisters and five brothers.

Bertie was a member of the Beechflats Baptist Church and had worked 18 yrs at Maple View Manor, as a nursing assistant. She dearly loved gardening, quilting and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, August, 22, 2013 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with burial following the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
