Betty Elizabeth Cornell

Betty E. Cornell, 83, of Chillicothe, died Monday morning, January 9, 2012, at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born in Ross County, on August 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Elizabeth Parker Mitchell. On November 28, 1945 she married Otis J. Cornell, who preceded her in death on December 16, 1991.

Surviving are her children; Rita (Dick) Hooks of Frankfort, Ronald Cornell of Clarksburg, Kathy Cornell of Columbus, grandchildren; Daniel Hooks, Matthew Cornell, Molly Mortimer, Mendy Halcomb, Robbie Penwell, ten great-grandchildren, and brother; George Mitchell of Springfield. She was preceded in death by a son; Larry Cornell, two great-grandchildren; Jared and Michael Cornell, three sisters, two brothers, and one daughter-in-law; Glenda Cornell.

Betty was a member of Samantha Free Will Baptist Church, Samantha and the Ross County Senior Citizens.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Willard McCray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
