Betty Brooks Dawkins

Betty Rose Dawkins, 96, of Chillicothe, passed into the hands of God at 4:45pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Logan Elm Healthcare Facility, Circleville. She was born on July 28, 1916 in Alexandria OH, the daughter of the late George D. and L. Marie White Brooks. On August 28, 1937 she married Jack Dawkins who preceded her in death on May 26, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters; Nancy (Philip) Butchers of Chillicothe, and Susan (Ronald) Hall of Marion, five grandchildren; David, Angie, April, Brooke and Andrew, seven great-grandchildren, one sister; Maxine Dumbauld of Chillicothe, and two brothers; David (Terry) Brooks of Pompano Beach, FL, and Johnny (Linda) Brooks of Alexandria, OH. She was preceded in death by one son; David.

After graduating from Alexandria High School in 1934 and marrying Jack, she devoted her life to being a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was truly an angel on Earth and will be so in Heaven. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and all who knew her. Betty's family would like to thank the Logan Elm Healthcare Staff and the Berger Hospice for the special loving care they gave Betty in the final years of her life. Granny has passed from this life but she will surely live on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty attended the Frankfort Presbyterian Church, and was known for her delicious desserts.

In keeping with Betty's wishes, cremation will take place. CALLING HOURS WILL NOT BE HELD. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Concord Township EMS, PO Box 616, Frankfort OH 45628.
