Brent Lee Bethel, 64, of Bainbridge, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his residence. Born on December 6, 1960, was a treasured father, grandfather, brother and friend whose warm spirit touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A proud graduate of Paint Valley High School and after graduation, Brent embarked on a lifelong career at the Mead Paper Mill, where he started working at the young age of 19. He was more than just a hardworking man; he was also a passionate soul with a deep love for farming, instilled in him by Macky and Carol McDonald. This love not only shaped his work life but also reflected his values and connection to the land.
Brent's hobbies and interests were diverse, he was an avid hunter, forging friendships across the United States through his passion for the outdoors. His early involvement in 4-H evolved into a rewarding role as a 4-H advisor for the Buckeye Blazers alongside his good friend and coworker, the late Ronnie Skaggs. Additionally, Brent was a lifetime member of the American legion. His greatest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Lisa Bethel.
A lover of sports, football held a special place in his heart as one of his greatest passions. Brent was a simple man, devoted to his family and friends. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren, whose lives reflect the love he poured into them. The memories created will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brent is survived by and will be deeply missed by his three adoring children, Storm (Jason) George, Shannon Foggin-Bethel, Shelby (Nathan) Hamilton; siblings, Tonni (Tom) Elliott, Bryan (late June) Bethel, Cindy (Mike) Eckard, and Lori Clemmons; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Wesley, Emma, Titus, Kylee, Skylar and Jake. He will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, including Trisha, Caylee, Sunny, Skyler, Wil, Corey, Kandis, Tiffany, Ryan, Terry, and a multitude of great nieces and nephews, many cousins, friends and family, all of whom he cherished dearly. Brents family brought him immense happiness and a sense of purpose.
He was preceded in death by his dear grandparents, H. Glenn and Beatrice Bethel; parents, Larry Jack and Constance Bethel; nephew, Larry Jack Bethel; and his sister-in-law, June Miller Bethel.
Brent's presence will be profoundly missed, and his legacy of love, kindness, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 pm until 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
