Bruce William Kohler

Bruce William Kohler 83 of Latham passed from this life 1:23 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home. He was born August 1, 1939, in College Point, NY the son of the late William Gustav and Adelaide Mildred Smith Kohler. On August 7, 1971, he married the former Dottie Jane Middleton, who survives.

Bruce is also survived by a son Daniel (Brianna) Kohler; daughter-in-law Suzanne Kohler; 4 grandchildren Bryan, Kayla, Drew and Anthony; 2 sisters Shirley (James) Amick of TN and Linda Weisensee of AZ and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents Bruce was predeceased by a son Kristian Kohler.

Bruce was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church. He served in the Navy during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post 142 of Waverly. Bruce retired from Grumman Aerospace after working 34 years as an electronic technician. He enjoyed skeet shooting with his Mennonite friends and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Pastor Terry Yahr officiating. Following the service Bruce will be laid to rest in the Twin Township Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 142 of Waverly. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and on Monday from 10 am until the time of service.
