Carl Coonrod

Carl W. Coonrod, 86, of Frankfort, died at 4:45pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on Thursday, September 2, 1937, in Ross County, a son of the late Rufus Earl and Vasie A. Tackett Coonrod.

Carl is survived by three children, Tracy (Chuck) Davis of Frankfort, Curtis (Crystal Taylor) Coonrod of Chillicothe, Chad Coonrod of Chillicothe, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one more due in a month or two, one sister, Kathy Goldsberry of Washington C.H., and one brother Glenn (Edna) Coonrod of Greenwood, MO. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Bick, two brothers, Ralph and Dale Coonrod, and one brother-in-law, Bill Goldsberry.

Carl was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician at Dupont for 32 years before retiring. He volunteered at all of the food banks he could, and he and his friend Jenny enjoyed traveling together. Carl's family wishes to give special thanks to Adena Hospice and his nurse Jamie, Dr. Seidensticker, and his aide from the VA Village Care Givers, Sadie.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the Greenlawn Cemetery Frankfort, where military honors will be accorded.
