Carol G. Hardy, 90, of Frankfort died at 7:55 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on December 31, 1922 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Fred W. and Emma E. Myers Rinehart. On December 21, 1937 she married Joseph V. Hardy who preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2009.
Carol is survived by one daughter; Sandra L. (Carroll) Whitten of Frankfort, one daughter-in-law; Peg Bossert of Chillicothe, one granddaughter; Shari Hammond, three grandson; Brad Whitten, Shane Hardy and Lincoln Bossert, eight great grandchildren; Sean, Deron, Audrey, Andrew, Joseph, Greenlee, Haley and Allie, two great-great grandchildren; Madelynn and Sophia, three sisters-in-law; Virginia Hardy, Virginia Rinehart and Marie Rinehart. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Hardy, two brothers and three sisters.
Carol was a retired school bus driver for Adena Local Schools. She worked with the Milliken family at the Frankfort Corner Restaurant baking the best pies in the world. She was a member of the Lattaville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church. Carol loved everyone and everyone loved her. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Family and friends are asked to gather at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort for a graveside funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013. The Rev. Dr. Phillip Malone will officiate the service. In keeping with Carol's wishes, no calling hours will be held. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Concord Township EMS, PO Box 616, Frankfort, OH 45628.
