Carolyn McAllister-Davis

Carolyn McAllister-Davis, 71, of Bainbridge, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, in the Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born December 10, 1940, in Peebles, to the late Coleman and Lucille Grooms Newman. She married the love of her life, the late Paul McAllister, on June 1, 1958. Together they had five children. After her husband's death, she married Charles Davis, in July 2002.

Surviving are daughters Shannon (Mark) Huff of Chillicothe, Nancy McAllister of Chicago, Judy (Mike) Immell of Chillicothe; sons, Phil (Cindy) McAllister of Waverly and Paul (Michelle) McAllister of Chillicothe; brothers, Norman (Pat) Newman, Gary (Charlotte) Newman, Tom (Kathy) Newman; sisters, Phyllis (Bill) Smalley and Marilyn (the late Jim) Waddell, all of Peebles.
She was predeceased by brother Eldon Newman, sister Rae Fultz and her parents.
She was the proud grandmother of Brooke and Shaina Hammond; Nathan (Jennifer) Huff; Laura (Daniel) O'Dell; Justin (Tara) and Cole Immell; Luke, Hannah, Tyler, Casey, Grace and PJ McAllister; and the proud great-grandmother of Libby, Maddie, CJ, Danica, Brooks, Spencer, and Jaxson.

Carolyn was a dedicated Christian, devoted mother, a loving homemaker, and previously served as the president of McAllister Trucking. She was a lifelong member of Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union. In addition, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and activities. She was the salutatorian of the class of 1958 in Peebles High School.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Emory Clark officiating, burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge.
