Cecil Ray Houser, 69, of Frankfort, died on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at The Convalarium at Indian Run, Dublin, following a short battle with cancer. He was born December 22, 1948, to the late Roger and Edith (Wilburn) Houser.
He is survived by a daughter, Melanie (David Young) Houser of Galloway, sisters, Jeanne (Bill) Freeman of Maumelle AR, Shirley Shavers of Griffin GA, brothers, Robert (Mary) Houser of Chillicothe, Joseph (Donna) Houser of Warren OH, sister-in-law, Helen Houser of FL, special nieces and nephews, Susan (Roy) Pennington of Frankfort, Sherry Houser of FL, Jerry (Tammy) Darst of Columbus, Stacey (Sheryl) Darst of West Jefferson, and very special friends, Terry (Vickie) Conrad of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by sisters, Doris Darst and Donna Wallace, and brothers, John Houser, Richard Houser and Raymond Houser.
Cecil loved his country and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Union-Scioto School District, where he worked as a janitor, taking great pride in his unwavering work ethic. He was an avid gardener, always sharing his bounty with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Willard Kellough officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office, 5555 Frantz Rd, Dublin OH 43017, OR Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Rd, Suite 210, Columbus OH 43229.
