Charles "Charlie" Caplinger

Charles E. "Charlie" Caplinger, 73, of Frankfort, died at 5:46am on Monday, November 25, 2024, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born on November 1, 1951, a son of the late Charles A. and Helen Moody Caplinger. 

Charlie is survived by his two sons, Jamie (Amy) Caplinger of Clarksburg, and Andy (Courtney) Caplinger of Chillicothe, five grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Tanner, Wesley, and Raylee, three great-grandchildren, Avah, Rosie, and Lanie, two sisters, Wanda (Larry) Free of Frankfort, Phyllis (John) Hill of Greenfield, two brothers, Jim (Julie) Burns of Clarksburg, Rob (Jan) Burns of Greenfield, and his former wife, Gloria Caplinger of Frankfort. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Burns, his best friend and dog, Angus, and his grand pup, Carlee Raye.

Charlie graduated from Adena High School, and worked as a carpenter for Budd, and Bosch. He additionally worked for Able Construction, and Showa Aluminum. He was a member of the Little Buck Lodge, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed Dickel whisky.

In keeping with Charlie's wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 7pm on December 3, 2024, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort. Friends are invited to visit with Charlie's family on Tuesday from 5pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ebright Funeral Home, to help the family with expenses.
