Cindy L Graves

Cindy L. Graves, 65, of Chillicothe, met her heavenly Savior, Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 10:50 P.M. after a one year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 27, 1946, the daughter of the late Leslie and Thelma Orihood Gallaugher. On August 13, 1966 she married her loving husband of 45 years, Lloyd Graves, and he survives.

Also surviving is her son; Matt (Jami) Graves of Blacklick, the sunshine of her life, a very special grandson; Zachary Ryan, brothers; Gerald (Beatrice) Gallaugher of Chillicothe, Bill (Karen) Gallaugher of Delaware, OH, sisters; Pat (Jim) Martin of Clarksburg, Barb (Don) Kretzer of Bainbridge, sister-in-law; Albie Gallaugher of Clarksburg, brother-in-law; Don Graves of Chillicothe, many nieces, nephews, and very special friends; Roger (Sue) Crago and Cheryl Hoffner. She was preceded in death by her brother; Jim Gallaugher, mother and father-in-law; Gene (Jenny Radcliff) Graves.

Cindy was a 1964 graduate of Clarksburg High School. In 1969 she graduated from Ohio University and received her Master's of Education degree from Xavier University. She spent 35 years teaching at Unioto Elementary School. She was an active member of the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, where she had previously served as an elder for several years. She enjoyed her involvement with ECL, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and was an active collector and consultant for Longaberger. Cindy was an extremely generous, Godly woman, who cherished her whole family, loved life, and always lived for the Lord.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, Chillicothe, with Pastor Bruce Viar and her brother, Reverend Bill Gallaugher officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Friends may call at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort on Wednesday, from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the High Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, 477 N. High St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
