Clarabelle Mae Caplinger

Clarabelle "Clara" Mae (Cunningham) Caplinger, also known as "Sis", 81, of Frankfort, went to be with our Heavenly Father, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 12:44a.m. at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, following a brief illness. Clara was born on March 26, 1934 in Ross County to the late Wilmer J and Ora Belle (Walker) Cunningham. On April 3, 1957 she married Walter E. Caplinger, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2014.

Surviving are her children; Sherry (Tim) Clary of Frankfort, Edwin Anthony "Tony" Caplinger of Frankfort, Bret Allan Caplinger of Washington C.H., eleven grandchildren; Travis and Adam Clary, Neeley (Jeff) Allen, Jessica (Matt) Warth, Jacob Caplinger, Jared (Emily) Caplinger, Brettney, Rusty and Jade Caplinger, and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Paul Cunningham of Ormond FL, and Gary Cunningham of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammera Lynn Caplinger, grandson, John "Johnny" Edwin Keeton, brother, Darrell Cunningham and sister, Janet Collins.

Clara was a 1952 graduate of Chillicothe High School where she was an active member in one of their sororities. She had worked at Fuchs and Drury's Jewelry Store and taught ABLE classes in Chillicothe from the mid 1970's until she retired in 2003. She was a well known ABLE teacher who was loved by many of her students and coworkers and was always willing to give a helping hand. Prior to working with ABLE, she was also owner and operator of Caplinger's Market with her late husband.

Clara was an avid bowler at Shawnee Lanes, Chillicothe. During the late 1970's through the late 1980's, she bowled in the Wigwam Gals league. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family any chance she could get. Clara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was dearly loved by her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her!

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the Caplinger family at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m..
