Claribel P. Wood

Claribel P. Wood, 85, of Bainbridge went to Heaven on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on July 3, 1928 in Ross County to the late Hollie H. and Ethel Ballenger Palmer.

She is survived by her children; Larry Alan (Nancy) Staffin of Frankfort, Samuel Keith (Sue) Johnson of Bainbridge, Peggy (Richard) Puckett of Chillicothe, grandchildren; Doug (Dawn) Staffin, Duane (Melanie) Staffin, Deidra (John) Rowland, Susie (Steve) Fisher, Tammy (Tony) Bridenbaugh, Robyn (Rick) Ater, Mike (Amy) Moler, Angie Puckett, Jackie (Randy) Wilmouth, Sam (Heather) Johnson, Amy (Chris) Bruce, 25 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, brother; Harvey M. Palmer of Greenfield, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, parents, sisters; Margarite Edwards, Alice Sexton, Mildred Johnson, Doris Wood, brothers; Walter Palmer, George Palmer, stepdaughter; Betty Jo Johnson Flood.

Claribel was a home maker and had worked several years as cook at Twin Schools, Bourneville, and had worked at the Big Bear Store in Chillicothe. She was an active member of the Lattaville United Methodist Church, Lattaville United Methodist Women, was treasurer for the church many years, she was an active member of the Fayette County Hospital Women's Auxillary, Mary Guild of First Christian Church where she was baptized by emersion. She was honored by the Lattaville United Methodist Church for 40 years of faithful service, 25 years as a Sunday School teacher and 25 years as a Youth Leader. She moved to Bainbridge on September 27, 2003 after selling her home in Washington Court House.

Services will be held at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, FRANKFORT, on Wednesday, April 23, at 11:00 AM with Steve Henderson and Rev. Dr. Phillip Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 PM.
