Cyrus E. Rutter 80 went home to his Lord and Savior, 6:15 pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 from his home, following an extended illness. He was born March 12, 1934 in Chillicothe the son of the late Russell and Selda Kerns Rutter. On December 14, 1984 he married the former Velda Carter, who survives.

He is also survived by his children Pam (Greg) Ball, Nickie (Scott) Maynard, David (Toni) Rutter all of Chillicothe and Tim (Sherry) Rutter of Creola, OH; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Charlotte Dennewitz, Mrs. Beverly Brownfield and Shelva Monroe; and brother-in-law, Blane (Linda) Carter.

In addition to his parents Cy was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond (Slim Rutter); sisters, Helen, Bertha, Florence, Bernice and Pearl; father and mother in-law, Charley and Betty Carter; and sister-in-law, whom he dearly loved, Loretta Carter Corcoran.

Cy retired from the Mead and belonged to the carpenters union. He loved going to church and writing gospel songs and when he wasn't singing in revivals with his wife, Vel and sister-in-law Bev, They went to Valley Church.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with Rev's Jimmy Vandagriff and Lou Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with Cy's family on Tuesday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
