Daniel Winters

Daniel C. Winters, 83, of Frankfort, died Monday evening, June 6, 2022, at his home. He was born on Friday, June 3, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Paul C. and Vivian Ruth Ruehrmund Winters. He married his wife of fifty-eight years, the former Jean Lane, on May 29, 1964, and she survives.

Also surviving are his two children, Lisa (Todd) Taylor of Chillicothe, Jon (Julie) Winters of Frankfort, five grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Burgett, David (Mindy) Kellough, Holly Marie Winters, Hannah Taylor, Brady Sigman, five great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Karlie, Kennedy, Kylee, Kaci Burgett, one sister, Mary Ann Jarvis of Roanoke, VA, one brother, Jim (Teri) Winters of Groveport, a beloved foreign exchange student, Kazumi Matsumoto, special and loyal friend, Coco, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Parish Winters, one sister, Marge Guarrasi, and two brothers, David Cary and Paul Nicholas Winters. 

Dan was a 1957 graduate of Grandview Heights High School. He was a member of the First Community Church of Columbus. Dan honorably served his country in the United States Army. He started his career as a service manager at Jarvis Motors, and it was here where he first met his wife, Jean. He later retired from P.M.W. Auto Repair, Chillicothe, in 2012. He had served as a 4-H advisor of the Adena Hustlers and vice president of the Ross County Jr. Fair Sale Committee. He was also an avid fan of Adena High School football and The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

A funeral service to honor Dan’s life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 1p.m. in The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with his friend, Mike Smith, officiating. Family and friends can visit with Dan’s family on Friday, from 11a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
