Darlene Alpha Evans

Darlene Alpha Evans, 56 of Bainbridge was born July 19, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Roman and Judia McGlone. She departed this life July 25, 2010 at Adena Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.



She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Lee Evans, whom she married July 9, 1974. She is also survived by daughter, Christina (Paul) Holycross of Bainbridge; 2 granddaughters, Chelsie and Brooklyn Holycross; 3 sisters, Florene (Felix) Trent of Peebles, Alta King of TN and Edie Cansler of OR; 2 brothers, Gene (Rose) McGlone of Peebles and Earl McGlone of IL; several nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Tub (Jeannie) Evans of Bainbridge; mother-in-law, Bonnie Yates of Piketon; sister-in-law Brenda Beasley; brother-in-law, Bill Fuller; and special friends, Angie and Bailee Gilbert, Sharon Barnett, Brooke Dreher and her co-workers.



Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Alpha Lynn Evans; sisters, Geneva Whitley, Alice Rife, and Alpha Richburg; 2 infant brothers, Roman McGlone, Jr. and Ezekiel McGlone; nephew, Mike Dreher; sister-in-law, Shirley McGlone; and 2 great friends, Karen Parrish and Kathleen Holbert.



When she was able, she attended the Beech Flats Baptist Church and she was also a longtime employee of Maple View Manor.



Darlene always had a smile and a hug for everyone she met. She lived for her husband and her little girls and their mom. She always looked forward to trips to Kentucky to visit her special cousins, Bonnie and Vernon.



We will all miss her but we realize she deserves her time of rest and peace in a much better place.



Funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday, July 30, 2010 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Bainbridge with the Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
