Darlene Faye McCain

Darlene Faye McCain, 86, of Greenfield, died peacefully and unexpectedly Thursday evening, Sept. 25, 2014 at her home. She was born in Scioto County on Sept. 1, 1928, the daughter of the late George A. and Ethel Smith Montavon.

She is survived by several cousins and close friends including Megan and Mary Montavon, Makenzie, Malea, Kenny, Bryan Cockerill and Bryan Adkins and her beloved dog, Brownie. She was preceded in death by three sister; Genevieve Whitmer, Sarah Beauman, Agnes Montavon, two brothers; George and Glenn Montavon.

Faye was a graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. She retired as an aide at the Orient State Hospital. She loved spending time tending her flowers and garden and canning the vegetables she grew. She always enjoyed the time she spent at the Fayette County Farmer's Market and the Fayette County Commission on Aging.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield. Burial will follow in the White Oak Grove Cemetery near Buena Vista. Friends can visit with the McCain family on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
