David R. Houser, 79, of Port Orange, FL, died at 6:45 am on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on December 24, 1936 in Ross County, OH, the son of the late Ralph and Myrtle McDill Houser. In 1971 he married Marie Harris and she preceded him in death in 2002.
David is survived by one daughter; Jeanette (Mal) Corey of Frankfort, one step daughter; BJ (Terry) Bishop of New Smyrna Beach, FL, six grandchildren; Joshua (Stacey) Tyler, Aaron Corey, Dallas (Stephanie) Tyler, Adam (Erica) Corey, Destiny Corey and Elijah Corey, eight great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by one great grandchild and one brother, Don Houser.
David was a graduate of Frankfort High School and had worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 18. David loved to play poker, enjoyed horse racing and auto racing and loved his dogs, Butchie and Opie.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
