David Joseph Jones, 86, of Dayton, formerly of Roxabel, died on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Grandview Health, Kettering. He was born on Saturday, May 7, 1938, in Ross County, a son of the late Calvin H. and Lilly Austin Jones. 

David is survived by his ex-wife; Dorothy Jones, 5 children; Cherylinda Henry, Carolyn Anderson, Cory Jones, Cornell Jones, and Paul Jones, all of Columbus, 14 grandchildren; Chayla, Tyronn, Tim, Ironda, Thomas, Shalonda, Corvaughn, Corwin, Myles, Antonio, Keisha, Marie, Mayila, and Layla, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn (Phil) Ikehorn of Columbus, and a good friend, Randy. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Nora, Louise, Mary, Goldie, and Juanita, five brothers, Charles, Fred, Donald, Johnny, and James, and a special nephew, John Henry Butler.

David worked as a machinist at Jeffrey Manufacturing and loved to play guitar. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Monday, October 7, 2024, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Thomas Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where military honors will be accorded. Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday from 11am until the time of service.
