David A. Seekatz

David Alan Seekatz, 62, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024. He was born to Sharon L. (Milliken) and Willard D. Seekatz on April 21, 1962.

While growing up, David attended Walnut Street United Methodist Church, also part of Boy Scouts. He was a 1981 graduate of Unioto High School and Pickaway Ross School where he got a vocational degree in masonry work. He played football in high school but soon became "Team Manager." Throughout his life, he worked at many places, including the famous Frankfort Corner Restaurant and Dairy Cone.

David had many different hobbies but he enjoyed genealogy. His love of finding family members and researching families was known by all. David was very proud of his family and the family history. For the past few years, he lived at Legacy Chillicothe. Numerous times a week you would find him playing bingo, doing crafts (making his famous potholders), or just catching up with friends and other residents at the nursing home.

David was a friend to anyone. You could always expect a daily or weekly phone call from him. He had a good heart, he was a good guy, and he lived life his way. If you knew David, you loved him. He was happiest when he lived in Frankfort.

David is survived by his father, Willard D. Seekatz; siblings, Rebecca (Dave) Crawford, Brent (Paul) Seekatz, Nathan (Linda) Seekatz; nieces, Mettea (Jeremy) Green, Michelle Crawford, Camryn, and Marley Seekatz; great-niece, Julia Green; uncles, David (Judy) Milliken, Russ (Barb) Milliken, PJ (Chris) Milliken, Richard (Linda) Seekatz, as well as numerous cousins in Frankfort and Coalton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon L. (Milliken) Seekatz; stepmother, Mary Lou Seekatz; grandparents, Willard (Elizabeth) Seekatz and Bill (Evelyn) Milliken.

His family would like to thank Legacy Chillicothe for all the care and compassion they gave to David.

A funeral service for David will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Mitch Salyers officiating. Friends and family may visit with David's family from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the convenience of the family. Everyone is encouraged to dress casually and most importantly, don't forget your suspenders. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ross County Genealogical Society, 303 S.
