David W. Silcott, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 9:57 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center, Columbus. He was born in Fayette Co., on August 27, 1924, the son of the late Thomas and Maud Williams Silcott. In February of 1950 he married the former Mary Jane DeWitt who preceded him in death on July 12, 2005.
Surviving are one daughter; Susan Buckley of Chillicothe, two grandchildren; Stacey (Matt) Chaffin, Tyler Buckley, all of Chillicothe, six great-grandchildren; Abby, Gabby "Homer", Lane, Daelyn "Porkchop", Alyx "Termite" Chaffin, Makenna Jade Buckley, one brother; Glen Silcott of Cedarville, one niece; Eloise Gray of Chillicothe, one sister-in-law; Bonnie DeWitt of Frankfort, and numerous family and friends.
David was a boiler operator at Chillicothe City Schools for 34 years and retired in 1981. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed meeting the E. Main Street McDonald's group for breakfast every morning. David was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
