Debra L. Bruce

Debra Len Bruce, 62, of Clarksburg, crossed over into Heaven, on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, at her home. She was born on Saturday, March 24, 1962, in Chillicothe, a daughter of the late John and Bessie Combs Bruce. She is survived by her longtime partner of forty years, Marty Gozy.

She is also survived by her daughter, Michele (Tim) Ola of California, two sons, Mark Bruce of California, and William Penrod of Frankfort, four grandchildren, Leland of Chillicothe, Brandy and Timothy, Jr. Ola of Las Vegas, Asia Ola of California, three great-grandchildren, King, Princess Starr, and Royal, all of Las Vegas, three sisters, Theresa Madru of Clarksburg, Janie (Mark) Conaway of Chillicothe, Sandra Poling of South Vienna, one brother, John Bruce, Jr., of Londonderry, several nieces and nephews. 

Debra worked as a home health aide. She cared for her mother, Bessie, for the past twelve years until her passing on December 7, 2024, even though Debra was fighting her own battle with breast cancer. The family would like to give special thanks to Sisters Michael and Sister Mary.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, at 1pm, with Dean Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Family and friends can visit with Debra’s family on Tuesday, from 11am until the time of the service. Those wishing to share a memory of Debra may sign her online register.
