Dennis Mootispaw

The man, the myth, the legend, Dennis Eugene “Moody” Mootispaw, passed away peacefully with his children and loved ones by his side on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1962 in Greenfield, the son of George “GeeBee” and Carolina Grose Mootispaw. His wife, Terry Sue Mootispaw preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Carolina Everhart of Leesburg, his children, Misty Dawn Downing, Dennis Mootispaw, Jr., George Mootispaw, Joe Rumer, William Mootispaw, Cory Price, Lakota Mootispaw and Sundance Mootispaw, his girlfriend, Angelica Munyon, several grandchildren, two brothers, Jerry Sumner of Reboboth Beach, Delaware and Mark Mootispaw. Moody was preceded in death by his father, George “GeeBee” Mootispaw, step-father, Donald Everhart, his grandmothers, Lola Mae Mootispaw and Gladys Hitt, uncle, Pearl Mootispaw and aunts, Betty Bryant and Dorie Howland.

Moody lived his life the way he wanted. And as he said, “It’s been one hell of a ride.”

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Family and friends can visit with his family on Friday from noon until the time of the service. Following the graveside service, a celebration of life will be held at the Greenfield Eagles back room.
