Diana Lee Cochenour

Diana L. "D" Cochenour, 61, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly following her courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. at 12:34 p.m. in the OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. D was born on April 16, 1953 in Camp Atterbury, IN, the daughter of the late Charles and Florence Elizabeth Collins Patton. On February 16, 1985 she married Gary M. Cochenour and he survives.

Also surviving are her stepmother, Mildred Patton of Bellbrook, two daughters, Courtney (Jarrod) Hines of Frankfort, Calee (Brent) Smith of Bainbridge, three grandchildren, Corbin and Caysin Smith, Lynlee Hines, one stepsister, Susan Garringer of Xenia, her twin brother, David Patton of Buchanan, two stepbrothers, Kenneth Knisley of Bellbrook, Thomas Knisley of Greenfield, one aunt, Rosina Patton of Circleville, her beloved "leftover nanny", Dottie Anderson of Frankfort, and many family, friends, and people in the community. D was preceded in death by one sister, Janis Hosler and one aunt, Georgia Howland.

D was a 1971 graduate from Paint Valley High School. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Education in 1975 at Ohio University. She retired as an on car supervisor for UPS where she had worked for 22 years. She was a substitute teacher for the Adena schools, she managed the WODA Frankfort apartments for six and a half years, she was superintendent of the rabbit barn at the Ross County Fair for 18 years. She was active in many other community and school activities where she gave of herself unselfishly.

In keeping with D's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family can begin gathering at noon on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Frankfort United Methodist Church where a Celebration of Life service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Neil Foster officiating. The family and D ask that any flowers be omitted. The family asks that donations be made in D's memory to a charity of the donor's choice. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family.
