Dora M. Lyons

Dora Johnson Lyons, 90, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday morning, October 16, 2022, at Greenfield Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on Thursday, May 31, 1932 in Paris, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Desha and Sallie White Johnson. She married Charles J. Lyons who preceded her in death on November 5, 2004.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lyons Mitchell and her son-in-law, John H. Mitchell of Greenfield. She is also survived by three sisters: Martha Robinson of Chillicothe, Joann Duffy of Las Vegas, NV and Eula Hicks of Chillicothe as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Johnson, Virgil Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Betty Johnson, Elizabeth Hicks, Dorothy Chaney and Minnie Hawk.

Dora was a homemaker, a former employee of the American Pad and Textiles Company and retired from Greenfield Research. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, reading and playing word games.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield officiated by Rev. Mike Anderson. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Charles, in the Greenfield Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jenny Morgan, Hope Gunter and Kayla Newman of Greenfield Skilled Nursing for their care and compassion.
