Douglas A. Morehead

Douglas Allen Morehead, 66, of Greenfield, passed away Monday evening, September 19, 2022 at 6:16 pm, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. Doug was born Wednesday, July 4, 1956, in Greenfield, the son of the late John A. and Eleanor Storer Morehead. He married the former Julie K. Bell on December 2, 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, two sons: John H. (Shawnya) Morehead of New Holland and Joe A. Morehead of Greenfield, two step grandchildren: Macy Mahoney and Slade Strider, one sister: Regina (Randy) Rushing of Greenfield and one brother: Duane (Bonnie) Morehead of Greenfield, six nephews: Wes, Matt, Casey, Donald, Lee, Chris and his long time friend, Mike Bowman.

Doug was a 1974 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. He had worked as a guard at the Chillicothe Correctional Institute for nineteen years and had also driven trucks for McMullen Transportation for twelve years.

In Keeping with Doug’s wishes, he will be cremated. Following cremation, he will be buried at the convenience of the family in Gilboa Cemetery, New Petersburg. The ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield is serving the family.
