Dwight "Peanut" Penrod

Dwight “Peanut” Penrod 92 of Bainbridge passed from this life Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home. He was born December 20, 1930, in Ross County to the late Arthur and Rosetta Cochenour Penrod. On May 11, 1950, he married Virginia E. Hixon who passed away May 17, 2012.

He is survived by his children Rick (Carrie) Penrod, Karen Zeisler, Rocky Penrod, and David Penrod; 10 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren; sisters Shirley Martin and Judith Legg and a sister-in-law Emma Penrod and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife Dwight was preceded in death by 2 infant children and 2 brothers Ronald and Howard Penrod.

Peanut was a retired mechanic for the DT&I and the B&O Railroads.  He was also an avid fisherman who for many years enjoyed sharing all the fish he caught with family and friends by having a fish fry 2-3 times a year at his home.

Friends may visit with Dwight’s family at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 11:30 am-1:30 pm with a graveside service following at 2 pm in the Twin Township Cemetery.
