Earl D. Cross

Earl D. Cross 86, of Bainbridge passed from this life 7:50 pm Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1934 in Pike County the son of the late Luther “Happy” and Lilly Magnolia “Maggie” (Shoemaker) Cross. On November 14, 1954 he married, the love of his life, Ruth Whitley and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before she passed from this life Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Earl is survived by their children, Earl David (Freida) Cross, Randy (Konnie) Cross, Linda (Greg) Benner and Teresa (Mike) Benner all of Bainbridge; 8 grandchildren; a great great grandson; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; and his dog Rocky.

In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was preceded in death by son-in-law, Gary Hawk and 8 brothers.

Earl was a retired timber cutter and he enjoyed yard sales, mushroom hunting and going to auctions all over southern Ohio where he had a permanent number of 109 with Hess auctions.

Friends may visit with Earl’s family 11am to 1pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge with funeral service to follow officiated by Rev. Michael Whitley and Rev. Hurley Hamilton. Earl will be laid to rest beside Ruth in the Cynthiana Cemetery.
