Elsie L. Auxier

Elsie L. Auxier, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1936, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Grace Fyffe Ramey. On August 28, 1954 she married Jack Auxier who preceded her in death on November 9, 2016.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Ron) Hagerty of Frankfort, Shirley Sever of Washington Court House, four grandchildren, Amy (Nick) McDonald, Jason (Susan) Sever, Mike (Abbie) Hagerty, Jackie (Luke) James, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way, two sisters, Marilyn Jane (Donald) Athington of Waverly, Barbara Sue Ramey of Chillicothe, three brothers, David A. Ramey of Chillicothe, Danny J. Ramey of Chillicothe, and Marvin R. Ramey. In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Auxier, a great-grandson, Jacob, a son-in-law, Robert Sever, two sisters, Evelyn Conley, Patricia Ross, a special sister-in-law who was more like a sister, Hattie Auxier, and two brothers, Charles Ramey, and Jesse H. Ramey.

Elsie was a loving wife, mom, sister, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, playing Scrabble, and bowling at the Shawnee Lanes league. She was the treasurer of Fruit Hill Church for many years and attended the church there and at First Church of God. She was a woman of faith and loved serving God. Her family wishes to extend thanks to Adena Hospice and Pastor Jeremie for the wonderful care and guidance they were given.

A funeral service for Elsie will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Elsie's nephew, Bryan Auxier, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends may gather at the Little Buck Lodge, 2027 Mallow Road, Frankfort, following the services. Calling hours will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
