Elsie May Shoemaker Stepp

Elsie Shoemaker Stepp passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Maple View Manor, Bainbridge. Elsie was born January 9, 1929 in Ross County to the late Samson and Edith Lemmings Miller. Her husband Hal Stepp, three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Elsie is survived by sons, Larry (Dixie) Shoemaker, Stephen and Byron Shomaker all of Bainbridge and John (Angie) Shoemaker of Greenfield; daughter, Barbara (Terry) Knisley of Peebles; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a sister, Martha Fuller of South Salem.

Elsie was a wonderful cook and she retired after 18 years as a cook at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe. Elsie loved her flowers but her greatest joy was her family.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge. Burial will follow in the Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Paxton Area Life Squad, Box 614, Bainbridge 45612 or the Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N Oakland Ave, Washington CH 43160.
