Elva Lee Lewis

Elva Lee Lewis, 88, of Frankfort, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Vineyards at Concord, Frankfort. She was born on September 21, 1923 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lunda and Ida Mae Jenkins Montgomery. On November 4, 1939 she married Joe H. Lewis who survives.

Also surviving are five children; Violet (Robert) Wayland of Frankfort, Joe H. (Carmen) Lewis Jr. of Windsor Canada, Rosa Marcella "Marty" (Pete) Henness of Frankfort, Patricia (Michael E.) Putnam of Clarksburg, Mitchell (Nora) Lewis of Frankfort, twelve grandchildren; Gregory and Geoffery Wayland, Darrin Lewis, Kerri Rice, Mark Henness, Rebecca Thomas, Amy, Amanda, Michael Lee, Alissa Putnam, Jason Lewis, Jennifer Harper, thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, six sisters; Rosa Fry of Chillicothe, Jean Francis of Gun Barrell City TX, Lucille Carroll, Thelma Johnson, Christine Chaney, Irene Price all of Chillicothe, three brothers; Edward Montgomery, Richard Montgomery, Everett "Bud" Montgomery all of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Kimberly Killion, two sisters; Ivia Rodgers and Belva Hamilton, and one brother; Hasadore Montgomery.

Elva was active in the Bible Baptist Community Church, Chillicothe, and loved to bowl and cook.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Steven Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
