Emogene Brumfield (Van Meter)

Emogene Brumfield, 97, of Greenfield died 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield. She was born October 5, 1916 in Lawrence County, Ohio the daughter of the late Theodore and Adaline Blankenship VanMeter. She married Hartsel Brumfield on July 27, 1935 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1969.
She is survived by three children; Joyce Doyle of Jacksonville, FL, Ronald ( Nancy) Brumfield, Ann Kuhns all of Dayton, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one sister; Erma Shew of Springfield, OH and one brother; Harley VanMeter of Pedro, OH. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Emogene was a 1934 graduate of Aid Township School. She worked for many years at the US Shoe Corporation in Greenfield. She was a member of the Greenfield First Baptist Church and the Greenfield Eagles Auxiliary 1325.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 in the ANDERSON-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Greenfield with Mark Current officiating . Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of the service.
