Ethel Corey

Our sweet, sweet, mother Ethel Corey, 83, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her precious dog Maggie on October 14, 2012 following several years of health challenges and has now found eternal peace with her Lord Jesus.

Born on July 10, 1929 in Kentucky, Mom was 1 of 16 children born to the late Doc and Sally Johnson. She married her sweetheart RC Corey on April 3, 1947 and together they raised 12 children whom they taught to love, to accept and to believe in the healing powers of Jesus Christ. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2007.

Survived are her children; Ray (Darlene) Corey of Rainsboro, Eddie (Laura Raines) Corey of Chillicothe, Kay (Homer) Austin of Frankfort, Faye (Paul) Whaley of Washington C.H., Linda (Charles) Robinette of Frankfort, Brenda Corey of Chillicothe, Robert (Shawn Storts) Corey of Frankfort, Paul Corey of Chillicothe, Larry Corey of Frankfort, Charlene (Joel) Roberts, Wyatt (Angie) Corey, Craig (Tonya) Corey all of Chillicothe, 37 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, sister; Betty Buckner of Dallas GA, very good friends; Lori Detty, Pam Hatton, Claudia Walker, Linda Jones, and Jonda Brown. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, eight brothers and six sisters.

Our mother was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Mom's entire life was centered on family and she shared her mother's spirit with so many which included not just children or grand/great grandchildren but others whom needed a mother's love. As a devoted Christian, she did live and love in Jesus' name.

Ethel was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. The family extends thanks to Heartland Hospice.

Funeral service will be held at 1p.m., on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Evangelist Jason Yoakum officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m.
