Frank Cantrell 77, of Bainbridge went to his heavenly home 10:20 pm Thursday, March 21, 2012 at OSU Wexner Hospital, Columbus. He was born October 19, 1935 in Johnson County, KY the son of the late William Henry Cantrell and Gertrude (Wright) Cantrell Dyer. On August 10, 1957 he married the former Frances E. Lewis, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Dave (Debbie) Cantrell of TN, Julia (Mike) Heath, Troy Cantrell, Kim Smith (William Hallam) all of Bainbridge and Tonya (Jason) Andrews of Kingston; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Jan Bentley of Waverly, Ina Davis of Chillicothe, Loretta Cruze of Beaver and Ethel Perry of FL; brothers, Bob Cantrell of Raymond, OH and Jimmy Dyer of Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, Susie and Larry Parker of Columbus and a longtime friend Eugene Kerns.
In addition to his parents Frank was preceded in death by a sister Helen Hurley and two grandchildren, Austin Tyler Smith and Valerie Lynne Williams.
Frank was a follower of Jesus Christ and attended many churches. He loved to listen to and sing Bluegrass Music. He was President of Ham Radio and he owned and operated a Bait and Tackle Shop for many years. His hobbies included being a bee keeper and a junk dealer.
Frank also was known for his favorite quote, "Don't take any wooden nickels and kill all dead snakes."
Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church with Dave Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge.
