Gail S. Stegbauer Hitch, 64, of Frankfort, died in her sleep the morning of Tuesday, April 5, 2022. She was born on Thursday, October 17, 1957, in Wilmington, OH, the daughter of the late Robert and Christeen Douglas Stegbauer. Gail is survived by her husband, William E. Hitch whom she married on October 8, 2011.
Also surviving are her two daughters, April (Chad) Smith of New Holland and Gwen Laurens of Washington C.H., one stepdaughter, Leslie (Jason) Azbell of Chillicothe, three grandchildren, Kaitlynn (Justin) Smith, Britney Smith and Will Long, two great-grandchildren, Liam Leisure and Coleson Smith, her three brothers, Peter (Cindy) Stegbauer, Timothy (Linda) Stegbauer and Russell (Cathy) Stegbauer, all of Lynchburg. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Doodle.
Gail was a 1976 graduate of Fayetteville Perry High School. She retired as a Team Leader at YUSA Corporation, Washington C.H. Gail loved crafts, flea markets, and her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook and loved to prepare meals to share with her family. She will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Vera Welker officiating. Following the service, Gail will be laid to rest in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Family and friends may visit with Gail’s family on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
