George Merl Anstine 86 of Bainbridge died at 11:27 am Sunday, February 14, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born January 14, 1930 in Washington Court House the son of the late Dean E. and Bessie Sibole Anstine. On January 29, 1953 he married the former Nettie Baker, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Paula Goodfellow; 5 sons, Mickey (Alaine), Allen (Jenny), Kevin (Laurie), Joey (Monique) and Jeff Anstine; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Voorhees, nephew and niece John & Carol Pierrson,
In addition to his parents, Merl was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Merl was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he seen action on the front lines. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the flagpole with Steve Alexander officiating and military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard. No calling hours will be observed.
