George M. Hollis, 70, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, October 15, 1952, in Chillicothe, a son of the late George W. and Marjory M. Free Hollis.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Brooks and Patricia (Croker) Roberts, one brother, Charles G. Hollis all of Reynoldsburg, one nephew, Michael R. Croker, one uncle, Frank (Carolyn) Free, one aunt, LaVerne (Hawkins) Hollis and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Phillip R. Croker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
George had lived most of his life in Washington Court House. He was a 1971 graduate of Washington Senior High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975 and was honorably discharged. He moved to Columbus in 2001 and his last place of employment was Capital University.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. He will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, with military honors. The date of the service will be announced later. The EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Epilepsy Foundation the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of their choice.
