Gladys V. Broughton

Gladys V. Brown Broughton passed to her heavenly home on August 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born Dec 30, 1943, the fifth of ten children, to the late Orville “Preach” and Carmel (Weast) Brown in Bainbridge, Ohio. She is survived by her partner of 38 years Dewey Roof and his daughter Shirley (Heath) Henderson, daughter-in-law Tara Broughton, grandson Steve (Robin) Broughton, granddaughter Tabitha (Ron) Hunter, four great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Gladys is also survived by four sisters. Gladys was predeceased by her only son Gene Broughton, 3 sisters and two brothers.

Gladys retired from Amanda Bent Bolt Co in 2009. For over twelve years Gladys and Dewey were co-owners of Vinton County Roaster Supply.

Gladys enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, crafts and horseback riding.

Gladys' family would like to thank the National Church Residences nurses and aides for their excellent care.

Graveside services will be held 11 am Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in Bainbridge Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge is serving the family.
