Gladys Lucille Fellenstein

Gladys L. Fellenstein, 89, passed away peacefully at Pickaway Manor in Circleville on October 27, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. She had been in failing health.

Gladys was born September 22, 1924 on a farm near Good Hope. She was the daughter of Earl F. and Anna E. (Rowland) Sowers. She was preceded in death by her husband John Howard Fellenstein, her parents, five brothers - Roy Emmett, Almer, Thomas, Paul and Carl, sister - Frances, sister-in-law - Georgia Sowers.

On February 2, 1942 (Groundhog Day) she married John Howard Fellenstein. Gladys was blessed with three children - Carolyn (Gerald) Gerhardt of Williamsport, Charles Thomas (Rebecca Mash), John Myron (Peggy Yoakem) both of Clarksburg, eight grandchildren - Scott (fiancAC. Pattie Elward) Gerhardt, Brad (Amy Sever) Gerhardt, Kevin (Rachel Blain) Gerhardt, Thomas Alan Fellenstein, Kimberly (Darrell) Griffith, Amy Curry, Michele (Shawn) Cutright, Jason Fellenstein, twelve great-grandchildren, sisters - Anna Belle (Charles) Gerhardt of Xenia, Ada Jo (Charles) Houser of Clarksburg, Laura (Robert) Dumm of Chillicothe, Mary Lou (Paul) Barrett of Virginia, sisters-in-law - Mary Jane Wright, Thelma Rose Reynolds, Loraine Sowers, Elizabeth Sowers, Shirley Sowers, one aunt Mary White, plus a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gladys was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church, Comrades Sunday School class, United Methodist Women, Clarksburg Grange, Ross County Pamona Grange, Clarksburg Garden Club, W.C.T.U., plus taught Busy Bees Sunday School class for many years.

Gladys enjoyed going to church, gardening, raising flowers, baking and having family in for meals. There was always room for one more.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Pastor Jerry Caddell officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Deerfield Township EMS, PO Box 19, Clarksburg OH 43115.
