Gladys Pearl Armstrong Richie 93 of Bainbridge went to be with her Lord 5:25 am Monday, October 20, 2014 at Edgewood Manor, Greenfield. She was born November 28, 1920 in Lawrence County, OH the daughter of the late Everett and Anna Payne Bunn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pepple Armstrong in 1960; husband, Melvin Richie in 1995; daughter-in-law, Betty Marie Armstrong; son-in-law, Daniel Day Grice; granddaughter, Lisa Christine Grice; four sisters and two brothers.

Gladys is survived by four children, Frances Lou (James) Buckler of VA, Bobbie Grice of Morrow, Robert "Army" (Karen) Armstrong and James (Rhonda) Armstrong both of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Gladys was a 1937 Graduate and Valedictorian of Kitts Hill High School. After college she became a teacher and taught, in Springfield, Rainsboro, Greenfield and Bourneville, for a total of 41 years. She was an avid reader and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge and the Bainbridge Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ with Troy Villars officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 5-8 pm Thursday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paint Valley Ministries Box 528 Bainbridge.
