Our Loving Mother, Gracie Belle Long, 91 of Bainbridge formerly of Black Run Rd. went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Maple View Manor, Bainbridge. She was born April 15, 1920 in Ross County, the daughter of the late John and Edna Mae Grubb Chaney. On March 1, 1940 she married Kenneth L. "Jack" Long who died August 3, 1996.
Gracie is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Stacy) Thompson and Elaine (Clark) Irvin both of Bainbridge, Regina "Jeannie" Mae (Rev. Thomas) Bell of Lake Milton, OH; daughter-in-law, Nancy McGuire Long; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Blanche Hughes of Chillicothe; brothers, Donnie (Ruby) Chaney, Howard "Joe" Chaney, Robert Chaney and Lonnie (Sharon) Chaney all of Chillicothe.
She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Leroy Long; grandchildren, Steven L. Long, Lori Kay Irvin and Lisa Jo Long Stout; six sisters and four brothers.
Gracie faithfully attended the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church where she enjoyed being part of the Vacation Bible Schools and the Ladies Fellowship.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of Fayette County and the Staff of Maple View Manor for all the love and care shown to Gracie during her stay.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church, Valley Rd. Waverly with Rev. Richard Cottrill and Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home, Bainbridge.
