They had 44 wonderful years together!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jaime (Shawn) Bossert, son, Zach Zurmehly and his girlfriend Kendra. He was “Pap” to his grandson Caden Bossert and four-legged Granddog, Jake. Also surviving is his sister, Joann Dennis, sister-in-law Joda (Russ) Junk, brother-in-law Kevin (Ginny) Wayland, nieces, and nephews; Meggan (Eugene) Cremeans, Matt (Danielle) Flesher, John (Deanna) Flesher, Troy Junk, Bethany (Ryan) Givens, Jordan (Whitlee) Wayland, and Rebecca (Justin) Townsend. He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Jim (Sue) Wayland, and his brother-in-law, Steve Dennis.
Scott was a third-generation life-long farmer. He was so happy when Zach became the fourth generation to help farm the land that he loved and tended for so long. Scott loved and lived life! One of the things he so looked forward to every year, was 10 days in Florida with Joda and Russ. There are so many great memories of fun in the sun and fresh seafood; all in the middle of winter.
He was so proud of Jaime, Zach, and Caden, and we will miss him so much! But he will always be loved and be in our hearts! We are at peace because he is at peace! He was such a strong man to the end! His family is grateful to the nurses and doctors on Floor 2 N.E. at Adena. These wonderful nurses and doctors are real heroes to Scott and his family. Their empathy, compassion, and genuine love for their patients and their families is awe inspiring. We wish we could name them all. Special thanks go out to Aaron C., and Sarah G.. They went above and beyond for Scott’s family and for that we are eternally grateful. We would like to thank our family and friends for all the love, support, and prayers up for Scott and us during this difficult time. We Love You All!!!
In accordance with Scott’s wishes, cremation will take place and his cremains will be spread over the farm that he loved and tended for 48 years! He will be coming home! In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ross County Humane Society, 2308 Lick Run Rd, Chillicothe OH 45601.
