Harry Eugene Hatfield

Harry Eugene “Gene” Hatfield 81 of Hillsboro passed from this life Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Greenfield Skilled Nursing. He was born Thursday, November 19, 1942, in Highland County to the late Raymond O. and Lula L. (Finley) Hatfield.

He is survived by his brother Dave Hatfield of Greenfield; nieces Jodie (Michael) Pershing, Angela Rhoades and Kaylee (Ryan) Kelly; several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews; several friends and his dog Bruno. 

In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by his son Roger Hatfield. 

Gene was a 1960 graduate of Marshal High School. He enjoyed working on his cars and he was a good-hearted jokester that was as bullheaded as the day is long.  

Funeral services for Gene will be held 6 pm Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge. A private burial will take place in the Bainbridge Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may visit from 4 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday.
