Helen Louise Smart

Helen Louise Smart, 93, of Frankfort, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Valley View Alzheimer's Care Center, Frankfort. She was born on May 25, 1919 at Kingston, OH, the daughter of the late Wilson and Alice Polen Kerns. On September 29, 1936 she married Roy Allen Smart and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1987.

She is survived by three sons; John K. Smart of Frankfort, George D. (Kathleen) Smart of Marysville, Harold (Debbie) Smart of Chillicothe, one daughter; Betty (Russel) Morgan of Frankfort, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by one son; Robert A. Smart, a daughter-in-law; Virginia R. Smart, two sisters; Blanche Marie Jones and Bertha May Myers and two brothers; Chauncey "Roy" Kerns and Lloyd "Bud" Kerns.

Helen was a member of the Frankfort Presbyterian Church and the Ross County Senior Citizens. She loved to cook, do quilting, she was a talented seamstress and love the time she spent working in her garden.


Helen's family would like to thank the entire staff at Valley View for all the loving care she received while she was a resident there.

Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Pastor Dwain Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
