Hollis Tromo Ellison

Hollis T. Ellison, 88, of New Holland, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on May 2, 1923 in Somerset KY, the son of the late Tromo and Lucy Helen Gosser Ellison. On October 11, 1953, he married the former Barbara Ater, who survives.

Also surviving are his son Mark and his wife Cynthia, daughter Lori and her husband Jim, daughter Jan, three grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his furry friends Muffin, Ezra and Emily.

Hollis was a United States Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II. He retired from the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic where he had served for 21 1/2 years. He was a member of Post 2256 AMVETS, Circleville and Post 8041 VFW, New Holland. Hollis was a volunteer at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center for the past ten years and made many, many friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In keeping with Hollis's wishes, cremation has taken place. No calling hours or services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the VA Craft Shop, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe OH 45601.
