Homer R. Rinehart

Homer R. "Duke" Rinehart 88 of Bainbridge heard his call from Heaven, Saturday March 8, 2025, "come home my son it's the last mile you must trod". Then he awoke in Heavens portals safely sheltered within the arms of God.

He was born November 26, 1936, in Ross County to the late Homer Rinehart and Hazel Mae (Kelley) Shoemaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tacy Knisley; brother George Shoemaker and sisters Norma Sollars, Eunice Childers and Lois Peabody.

Duke was a loving husband for 69 years to Beverly Sue (Knisley) Rinehart, whom he married January 21, 1956. He also survived by his very caring daughter Tish Potts; son Paul (Shari) Rinehart; a special adopted son Justin Barnett; son-in-law Rick Potts; grandchildren Casey and Kaleb Potts, Chris (Tabby) Knisley, Tessa Rinehart (Jamie) Kroetsch, Summer Rinehart (Kevin Wheeler), and Alexas Rinehart; great grandchildren Katlin Pottts, Jase Rinehart, Sophie Wheeler, Kale and Hayden Knisley, Caden and Cameron Kroetsch; sisters Patricia Wisecup and Wanda Caplinger and a host of nieces and nephews.

Duke was employed by the Mead for 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Chapel of Hope in Greenfield and a past member of the Quad Squad during the Fall Festival of Leaves, where he served for over 20 years. Duke had a great love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Duke often stated, "Jesus is my best friend."

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Jamie Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Bainbridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with Duke's family from 10 am - 11:30 am at the funeral home on Thursday.
