Homer Samuel Swearingen

Homer Samuel Swearingen 92, of Bainbridge went to be with the Lord 5:46 pm Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from Maple View Manor, Bainbridge. He was born March 14, 1922 in Adams County the son of the late Robert and Margaret Pixley Swearingen. On May 24, 1941 he married, his wife of 73 years, Lola Roberts, who survives.

He is also survived by sisters, Ida Mae Forsythe of Winchester and Helen Louise Little of Hillsboro; nieces, Jean Little of Hillsboro and Roberta (Michael) Newman of Winchester; nephews, Ron (Carolyn) Forsythe of Amelia and Russell (Linda) Little of Milford; one great nephew, one great niece, one great-great nephew and his adapted son, Matthew (Jeannie) Anderson of Bainbridge.

In addition to his parents Homer was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Ruth Roberts; brothers-in-law, Chester Forsythe and Chester Little and a niece, Beverly Forsythe.

Homer served the Churches of Christ in Christian Union as an ordained minister for over 50 years and he was a carpenter by trade.

Funeral services will be held 12 pm Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the SMITH- MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. The Swearingen family will receive family and friends from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
